Catch Waves at the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast is famous for its beaches. Surfers Paradise is the most popular beach on the Gold Coast. As the name suggests, a lot of people come here to surf, but many tourists also choose to spend their time swimming in the water. There are also lots to do after getting out of the water. The area is close to many shopping and dining options. You will also find a few novelty attractions near this beach.
Narrowneck is another area in the Gold Coast that is popular among surfers, likely due to the fact that few people swim in these parts. The Sand Islands of Queensland
About 250 kilometres north of Brisbane, you will find Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. One remarkable feature of the island is the rainforest growing out of sand dunes. The rainforest is home to satinay trees, kauri pines, and giant king ferns. Trees in this unique rainforest can grow as high as 200 metres.
You can’t leave Fraser Island without taking a dip in Lake McKenzie. The traditional owners of the island, the Butchulla people, all it Boorangoora. The lake is a brilliant shade of blue and it is surrounded by pure white sand. The beauty of Lake McKenzie makes it look almost unreal.
Known as the Gem of South-East Queensland, Moreton Island is another sand island in Queensland. Tourists of all kinds can enjoy many activities on this island. Activities on the island include sand tobogganing, swimming in the Blue Lagoon, and parasailing. But snorkelling near the Moreton Island Shipwrecks is probably the most popular of them all.
